Public and Private School Services

Alta Pediatrics is a New Jersey Department of Education Certified Agency and Clinic. We achieved this designation after passing through a rigorous process working with NJDOE and the Office of Student Protection. The NJDOE Certification ensures that all agencies working with Public and Charter schools in New Jersey follow a consistent process in accordance with state guidance. In working with schools, we provide both on-demand evaluation services and fulfill on-going staffing needs on an annual basis.

Therapy Services In Preschools and Daycares

Therapy At Your Child's Daycare or Preschool

We work with many local Preschools and Daycares in the towns surrounding our office in Scotch Plains to provide Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy services. Typically, the Daycare or Preschool will provide a dedicated space for our team to conduct our sessions. Our Therapists may also want to visit a classroom in order to observe certain behaviors that may not occur in a clinic-setting. This provides a more holistic view of your child when developing an overall treatment plan.

Convenient Scheduling Options

Many families find therapy sessions at their child’s preschool to be more of a convenient option as it avoids the need to send your child to an after-school appointment. If you would like your child to receive services at their preschool, you can contact our office to discuss with our Patient Care Coordinator. Even if we have not provided services in your child’s school in the past we can work with you to coordinate directly with the school.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I pay for services directly or does the school pay?

In a public school setting we contract directly with the school district. For preschool and daycare we would work directly with the parents. If we are in-network with your insurance you would be responsible for any co-pay/co-insurance. If we are out-of-network with your insurance provider you would be responsible for the full cost of treatment. If you have out-of-network benefits we would bill your insurance company and you would be reimbursed for a portion of the session depending upon your insurance plan. Are you able to work with my child’s school?

We currently treat children in many of the local daycares, preschools, and ABA centers in the Scotch Plains area. Even we have not worked with your child’s school in the past we can coordinate directly with the school or ABA center to see if they are open to allowing outside Occupational Therapists.

Which services do you provide in school?

For Public, Charter, and Private school contracts we provide can provide Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy services. For daycares and preschools, we currently only provide Occupational Therapy and Feeding Therapy services. We hope in the future to expand our capabilities to provide Speech Therapy services as well.
